Even though I have ever watched many documentary movies but this is impressive much more!

Mystery Monkeys of Shangri-La is the documentary movies published on PBS's Nature channel. It is telling about the true story of a family of Yunnan snub-nosed monkeys living in the highest forests in the world. Only recently discovered, snub-nosed monkeys are hauntingly beautiful primates, different and gentler than others of their kind. Elfin-like, they seem both childlike and wise beyond their years. The family is led by a formidable fighter and his fighting force that guard a troop of 8-10 families. This is a unique monkey society, formed in response to the hardships of the Himalayas. But their survival depends not just upon strong defensive strategies; it also relies upon the cooperation and interdependence of them all.

You can see the ways mother and brother treat a baby, learning how to survive, how to find foods, what to eat and protecting family. Besides, you can also see the wonderful scenes all four seasons in the forest and lifestyle of people lives in the valley.

The baby monkey looks like an alien in a movie but look cuter (I suppose that the author probably got an inspiration from this monkey, who knows?)

The team spent all four seasons in the forest to record the video. They needed to climb up with the big and heavy cameras and stuffs on shoulder to seeking for the right place for tracking those monkeys. Sometime the wind was so strong and snowing. I think they are the great photographers, every scene caught me. One of the team is Jacky Poon, Chinese-British mixed race but looks 100% Chinese people. This is my first time to watched movies produced by Chinese filmmaker which well done. And that’s not surprise me why they have received an award-winning filmmaker, Xi Zhinong.

Thanks for visit
